Nourished Babes Play Guide
Most of us understand that play is important for our little ones but in today’s society we have such a strong focus on academic learning & success that we often get stuck on teaching colours & the alphabet. So, it makes sense that we would want to buy our children toys that will “teach” them these things. While it’s great to work on these & some little ones are naturally drawn to them, there is a big picture of play that is not often talked about. I have written this guide with the hopes that you will look at play differently, that you will look at toys as the tools of childhood & that you will invest in taking time to play with your little one. Play with-out push (of academics or learning) helps us understand our little one’s innate strengths & interests & gives them space for joy and fulfillment. Play gifts their mind a break from the “big world” while also building valuable brain connections & life long skills all at once!

While I could critique toys, ultimately the way it is played with can be discovered only in the hands of the player. Download this guide to see more about play & look through the toy guide.
